Sequence Limit

The Epsilon-N Definition of a Limit

The limit of a sequence {an}\{a_n\} as nn approaches infinity is a number LL, written as limnan=L\lim_{n \to \infty} a_n = L, if for every number ϵ>0\epsilon > 0, there exists a natural number NN such that for all n>Nn > N, we have anL<ϵ|a_n - L| < \epsilon.
